Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Weston, FL
Hours/Schedule: Mon- Fri 8am 5pm
Type: Contract
Responsibilities Validates and executes changes to product line. Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety. Designs, develops, executes and evaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans; creates and reviews material part specifications and bills of materials. Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability. Responsible for assisting in the development of a global team that is proficient in process improvement and problem solving manufacturing issues using Six-Sigma tools. Support Line performance monitoring, and the compilation and execution of structured event plans to remediate systemic issues that drive sub-optimal performance. Development and implementation of appropriate supporting documentation, SOPs and process work instructions compliant with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Ownership of supplier initiated change requests to ensure that adequate assessments are executed to minimize business impact and disruptions. Responsibility for projects (value stream and cross functional) as assigned by the company, including the scoping, approval, budgeting, specification, execution, qualification and operational handover as appropriate. Support continuous monitoring and reporting of variables that feed into the business performance metrics, and pro-active identification and resolution of issues around any deficits in same. Elimination and/or management of material risks on the production floor in co-operation with Quality engineers Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical experience 1-3 plus years of experience Experience in medical device or a regulated industry Experience managing suppliers Continuous improvement experience
