The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, tools and operations for new products, existing products and product transfers. Methods and processes must adhere to FAA and ISO/AS standards.
NPI: Work with management, production personnel, and cross-functional teams to ensure design for manufacturability; identifying equipment and processes required to manufacture new and existing products. Procedures: Confers with personnel to develop, implement, optimize, operating procedures and resolve system malfunctions. WO/BOM: Technically support, implement and optimize the Manufacturing department's processes and procedures MRB: Lead Material Review Board (MRB) where technical knowledge is required to review and disposition nonconforming product. Working in conjunction with Engineering and Quality team Rework: Develop rework instructions and conduct training to operators as needed to support rework reduction efforts Tooling: Specify new tooling or capital equipment when needed, and coordinating tooling/mold maintenance or repair Tooling: Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Knowledge of CAD software required. Corrective Action: Collaborate with the quality department on Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action activities. Interfaces with manufacturing departments to address and resolve production issues. Continuous Improvement: Develops models of alternate processing methods to test feasibility of new applications of components, and recommends implementation of improved procedures. WCM: Lead improvement teams to drive cost reductions, yield improvements, and efficiency improvements towards World Class Manufacturing goals. Industry 4.0: Advance digital and automation initiatives through the site. Production Standards: Analyzes work study data and equipment specifications to establish time and production standards.
