Joby Aviation is seeking a passionate Manufacturing Engineer to join our Powertrain & Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Team in San Carlos, CA. The Manufacturing Engineer will own manufacturing equipment design and process development on battery, working closely with a cross functional team. This individual must be highly organized and self-driven, possessing a deep understanding of mechanical, process, and industrial engineering fundamentals to successfully scale projects from prototype to low volume production, while keeping a vision for high volume production in mind. Responsibilities Lead cross functional work with Product Design on process/equipment/tool development.Own and improve existing production line, tools and procedures.Own design of new tools, equipment and process for upcoming projectsAuthor Manufacturing Execution System procedures for Production team to use. Required BS in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or relevant fields5+ years of relevant work experience in tool designFamiliar with battery cell handling Experience in process development and performing process validations for manufacturingStrong mechanical engineering fundamentalsExcellent problem solving and teamwork skills while working with cross-functional teamsPassion for diving into the details and providing constructive feedback to the team and other cross functional teams DesiredExperience in manufacturing in a regulated environment such as 14 CFR Part 21, ISO9001, ISO 13485, TS16949, or equivalent
EEOCompensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $92,200 - $149,700 per year salary. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
