Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer - CNC Programmer Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer with over 4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering. The ideal candidate should have a strong Experience in lean manufacturing, process routing, secondary processes, and nondestructive testing (NDT). Additionally, the candidate should have over 3 years of experience with conventional lathe, mill, and CNC machining, with a preference for lathe experience. A degree is preferred but not required. Responsibilities + Develop CNC programs for multi-axis CNC lathes and mills via CAM software, preferably MasterCAM. + Improve and standardize machining processes, tooling, and equipment. + Spend approximately 75% of the day on the floor, splitting time between process improvements and editing/modifying programs. + Oversee around 20 machines in the shop, ensuring programs are ready, updated, and processes are optimized. + Assist machinists and operators during setups and first-time releases. + Work with Fanuc-controlled machines, including 5-axis mills and multi-axis mill turns. + Create fixtures and 3D models as needed, with occasional 2D drafting. + Develop standard operating procedures and training guides for CNC machining and other processes. + Troubleshoot problems on CNC machines and manufacturing processes, collaborating with shop floor personnel. + Designed and procured jigs, fixtures, and special tools, ensuring compliance with customer/design specifications. + Introduce new products with routed processes, BOMs, in-process drawings, and special tooling designs. + Support the procurement and implementation of new equipment and processes. + Proactively avoid problems and prepare for upcoming jobs, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly. + Perform value analysis on existing designs, making recommendations to reduce product costs. + Participate in the MRB process by dispositioning non-conformances and creating rework instructions. Essential Skills + Lean Manufacturing + Process Routing + Nondestructive Testing (NDT) + Conventional Lathe, Mill, and CNC Machining + CNC Programming via CAM software (MasterCAM preferred) + Experience with Fanuc-controlled machines + Fixture design and 3D modeling (SolidWorks or NX) + 4+ years in Manufacturing Engineering + Experience with multi-axis CNC lathes and mills + AS9100 + 8-D Problem Solving + Siemens NX + MasterCAM Additional Skills & Qualifications + Cellular Manufacturing experience + Heat Treating + Coating + Plating + CAD Experience Work Environment The candidate will work in a very clean and quiet manufacturing environment with a small, family-oriented team. The typical work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, with no overtime required. This position offers opportunities for growth within a leading designer and manufacturer of custom engineered mechanical seals for rotating shafts and precision components for aerospace and specialized industrial applications.Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $68.00/hr.
