Manufacturing Engineer – Continuous Improvement – Turbine Systems 

Full-time 

Rotherham/Hybrid 

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer – Continuous Improvement to join the Turbine Systems team within our world-class Automated Blade Casting Facility, based in Rotherham.   

  

As a Manufacturing Engineer – Continuous Improvement, you will join the Advanced Blade Casting Facility (ABCF) situated in Rotherham, a state-of-the-art modern factory focused on high volume single crystal High Pressure and Intermediate Pressure turbine blade casting manufacture for large civil aero engines.  

We employ world-class automated processes, integrated manufacturing systems and advanced measurement techniques, and are currently going through an exciting phase of growth as we install new equipment, optimise our factory layout for flow, and introduce new part types to increase our capacity to meet growing industry demand.

What you will be doing 

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to be: 

A key part of the Manufacturing Engineering plant team owning several components or manufacturing processes to support high-volume production. 

Part of a high-performing team with capability in single-crystal casting method development, tooling design, metrology, data analytics, metallurgy and more. 

Supported in your training to gain the skills and knowledge to excel in this role and be encouraged in your continued development to achieve your career aspirations. 

Using data and a structured approach to solve problems; finding root causes and implementing improvements to our manufacturing processes and methods. 

Working with Design Engineering to align product design specifications with manufacturing capability, and with our internal and external suppliers and customers to improve supply chain performance and customer satisfaction. 

Collaborating with other Rolls-Royce production and research facilities to standardise processes and share best-practice.

To be successful in this role you will need: 

A degree, HND, or HNC in Engineering or a related discipline, coupled with prior experience in a manufacturing engineering role. 

Strong analytical skills with a proven track record in technical problem-solving, along with a solid understanding of Six Sigma / Lean methodologies. 

Excellent organisational, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to engage and present to diverse audiences. 

A flexible attitude to work, and a keen interest in learning. 

Strong team collaboration skills.
