This role will Support the key fundamentals of manufacturing: Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost Reduction initiatives through process development and process improvement projects. Projects are driven by process improvement, operations capital investment plan, overall ROI, product development initiatives and the operations business plan.
Highlights of your role Identifying, initiating, leading, and supporting the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and projects that add value through improving performance, product and process quality, safety, and cost. Working cross functionally to address immediate opportunities and projects.Participating and leading Lean Manufacturing events, including Kaizen improvement events, Value Stream Mapping Events & line balancing in operations, 5S, ergonomics/safety and workstation design.Developing area layouts to maximize area square footage and improve safety, product flow and improve the performance of the area.Creating and improving documentation associated with the process such as Standard Operating Procedures and job aids. Perform training sessions related to process changes, lean concepts, quality control process and advocating for continuous improvement.Working directly with maintenance in improving line equipment reliability and safety enhancements in their own lines.Lead problem-solving sessions using DMAIC methodology.Work to resolve promptly daily production/quality issues, driving to discover the root causes with containment actions and countermeasures for problem reduction and elimination.Work closely with Research and Development (R&D) to improve product performance. You're a good fit if you have (or if you can) A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required (Mechanical/Industrial preferred)2-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment A passion for Lean Manufacturing including Kaizen improvement events, VSM/line balancing in operations, 5S, ergonomics/safety & workstation design, Six Sigma a plusExperience with AutoCAD and solid modeling is desirable (Inventor a plus)Understanding and working knowledge of ISO regulations or other quality operating systems as related to manufacturing. Experience writing deviations and corrective actions to quality issues.Demonstrated background in writing/ maintaining Standard Work Procedures, job aids; development of PFMEA and Control Plan; Cost Reduction through process optimizationExperience in Engineering Change Orders (ECO) implementation, doing time studies, creating / updating Bill of Materials (BOM) and labor routings and corrective actions for product performanceExcellent project management skills desired; Experience performing cost-benefit analysis and working with Finance to validate and writing capital equipment specifications and justificationsThe ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and results oriented, organized, creative, and work effectively in a participative environment.Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plusBilingual in Spanish and English is required (verbally & written) We invite you to See Yourself at MarvinFrom people to products, Marvin is committed to creating better ways of living.
