Manufacturing Engineer II

Overview

Participate, as an individual contributor and Technical Lead in an engineering team, applying sound engineering principles to develop, customize and/or sustain TDW products and services solutions for customer applications.

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

Develop manufacturing processes including machining, arc welding, assembly, paint and test for Intervention and Isolation productsJoin new product introduction teams to manage the manufacturing process development and design for manufacturing/assemblyProduce technical deliverables (e.g., 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, test reports, analysis reports, etc.) for manufacturing processesDesign work holding, tooling, weld fixtures, to support the manufacturing operationSupport or lead capital projectsInitiate and/or facilitate engineering change processes for product updatesWork with Manufacturers and Technicians to identify production and assembly problems and provide corrective actionsSet up system infrastructure and tools to improve the process of Manufacturing Engineering

Experience

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other applicable Engineering degree program3-8 years of engineering experienceExperience with a PLM system and engineering change processesDemonstrated experience with solid modeling software (e.g. SolidWorks)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient skills in 3D modeling, tolerance analysis, GD&T, FEA, DFMEA, manufacturing processes, problem solving tools, and machine design principlesUnderstanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., DFM/A, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)Experience within a dynamic shop environment. Specifically, experience with Welding and Pressing processes and procedures is highly preferred.Good written and verbal communication skillsIntermediate PLM software (e.g. Team Center) skills preferredIntermediate MS Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
