The PME (Process Manufacturing Engineer) group supports this goal with technical expertise in manufacturing, process, materials and applications experience across all Additive Manufacturing Technology offerings. As a **Manufacturing Engineer II** , you will play a key role in advancing our additive manufacturing processes and contributing to documentation and control of our procedures. Leveraging your expertise in manufacturing, you will work closely with the engineering team to optimize processes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the successful execution of advanced 3D printing production. **What you will be doing:** • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and workflow: o Leverage Six Sigma Black/Green Belt tools and practices to implement process improvements resulting in higher yields, less scrap, and less non-conformities. o Implement Lean principles to improve process speed, eliminate wase, and improve process quality, gap analysis tools and analytics to accomplish measurable business process improvements. o Mature a Kaizen culture to promote operator accountability in process standardization and continuous improvements o Author and maintain work instructions, BOMs, process specifications, Gap Analyses, Qualification Plans, Process Control Documents, and reports. o Train operations, quality, maintenance and fulfilment as processes evolve and mature. o Design tooling and fixtures and provide written instructions and training on their use. o Drive CPI program local to the relevant facility and companywide. • Support other departments regarding manufacturing needs and production schedules: o Support Quality Assurance, Supplier Audits and Source inspections. o Troubleshooting real world manufacturing process errors. Support, carry out and implement root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions. o Assist maintenance in establishing necessary procedures, controls, and schedules. • Collaborate with Business Systems to define issues and engineer digital systems.Foster strong collaboration between Operations, Quality, Fulfilment, and Sales. • Represent Stratasys Direct as the resident SME for the AM technologies, processes, and services. Convey benefits and disadvantages of SDM technologies to other am processes to customers and industry. • Support new initiatives to develop applications and business for additive manufacturing and SDM processes. • Consult with project engineering, sales and customers regarding manufacturing capabilities, technology strengths and weaknesses, and Stratasys Direct's ability to deliver: o Make recommendations to customers based on their application and Stratasys Direct capability. Present Redlines to engineering drawings and gap analysis to customer and industry specifications. o Promote Stratasys Directs capability while accurately conveying the benefits and deficiencies of competing technologies. Interface with suppliers to secure services necessary to meet customer requirements. o Assess risk and provide innovative solutions on technical challenges from customers. • Support Stratasys Direct Product Management with scoping, executing, and reporting on material characterization, process development, product commercialization to bring new materials to Stratasys Direct's portfolio. • Support Stratasys Direct Marketing by authoring white papers, creating content for and conducting webinars, gathering eligible photos and data to promote Stratasys Direct capability, capacity, and differentiators. • Collaborate with SSYS product teams and assist Stratasys Direct Product Management in developing processes to support new AM machines, equipment, technology, materials and capabilities. • Represent Stratasys Direct as an AM SME supporting local to facility SSYS events aimed to promote SSYS technologies. • Conduct technical due diligence on new technologies and processes aimed at expanding offerings or accelerating lead times. **Must have for this role:** _As a part of Stratasys, this position requires access to information and/or technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S. (or, green card holder), a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State._ • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years combined experience in engineering and/or manufacturing operations • Understanding of mechanical testing methods and equipment. Understanding of mechanical properties of materials • Experience designing complex 3D parts, basic assemblies, interrogating and manipulating parts in CAD in CAD. Basic ability to interpret GD&T found on engineering drawings and Model Based Definitions • Experience in authoring Process Control Documents/Plans (PCD's), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/ Work Instructions (WI's), Work Order/Traveler. Experience in scoping Non-Recurring Engineer (NRE) efforts • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma principles • Demonstrated ability to apply basic statistics, examples of leveraging a Design of Experiments (DOE), and knowledge of basic principles of Statistical Process Control (SPC) • Proficient with MS Office, formula-use in Excel; as well as with recording and plotting data with Excel. For this position, the typical annual starting base salary is from $94,156 to $116,424, which does not include variable incentive pay. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
