Manufacturing Engineer - Junior Level

Manufacturing and Industrial Engineer will oversee and coordinate work as part of customer led team, an Amentum led team, or a combination of both.

Will be responsible for working within the customer’s manufacturing engineering process team to support customer and deliver technical expertise for the purpose of supporting assembly equipment commissioning and launch and other operational support as necessary.

Will also be responsible for executing high quality results on a compressed delivery timeline.

Must have at least 5 years of automotive manufacturing engineering and/or plant and operations experience, which may include but not be limited to new model manufacturing engineering, production management, maintenance management, and launch management.

Must understand production facility requirements as they relate to automotive manufacturing equipment and processes and be able to lead technical team members to support customer in commissioning and launching new assembly equipment on a compressed timeline.

Lead commissioning activities on the plant floor for a new line of assembly equipment.  This will include oversight and program management of activities required to achieve PPAP, cycle-time and throughput. Provide insight to vehicle manufacturing organization on key data managements systems Identify and drive resolution of manufacturing related issues Interface with cross-functional activities (PD, STA, QO, NMP, etc.) Implement corrective actions on internal processes Lead and conduct process audits to ensure process subject area Analyze root causes, map processes and propose corrective actions Drive variability reduction, lean manufacturing initiatives and standard methodologies Ensure compliance with plant, corporate, governmental and environmental standards Identify efficiency constraints and drive root cause improvements Plan and prepare engineering projects Participate in tooling improvements and layouts Represent the manufacturing team in multidisciplinary team work Provide process related training to manufacturing engineering team Issue and track concerns and deviations Manage the development of process through engineering and build to support prototype program delivery schedules.

The minimum requirements we seek\:

Bachelor's degree 5 years of relevant experience, OR 10 years of relevant experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be fluent in the Microsoft Office suite of software applications.  Must be able to work seamlessly with customer to interface and coordinate between manufacturing engineering staff and facilities designers to deliver required outputs on time and with a high degree of quality.

Will require travel as required by customer (up to 100%).  Some remote work may be required.

Lifting - Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 30 lbs. of project related items, such as documentation, office supplies, PPE and other related items.

Special closing/equipment (wearing)\:  Proper footwear, eyewear and other required PPE for any visits to construction sites

Travel/Transportation requirements\:  Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle
