Manufacturing Engineer Pittsfield
To integrate, or improve manufacturing systems or related processes relative to Injection Mold Processing/Production/Validation. Provide project, status feedback to management team. Emphasis on Continuous Improvement driving positive change throughout the manufacturing processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: + Perform Manufacturing Engineering projects as assigned + Execute Lean/6-Sigma disciplines focusing on Continuous Improvement   + Implementing creative ideas in the process of manufacturing and understanding the technicalities related with the products + Hands-on approach on improving the manufacturing process by implementing engineering concepts and optimizing the production of the products + Support Validation Team in transitioning new programs to production including manufacturing line, secondary operations and production planning + Configuring the products and providing manufacturing specifications to the teams involved in documentation to help prepare guides and instructions + Reviewing the cost of the products by analyzing the cost of raw material and overall production cost + Working with the manufacturing department and help them understand the technical concepts that should be looked after during the manufacturing process of the products + Working closely with the quality assurance team to make sure that the product is meeting the quality constraints as well + Identify and/or Lead Continuous Improvement/Lean Projects either individually or with team + Gather information for capital equipment needs, create and budget for Return on Investment and/or positive efficiency return + Participate in NCR/Continuous Improvement meetings as required + Visit Customers to support manufacturing engineering efforts as required + Support sales initiatives and programs as required + Interact positively with all Apex personnel + Ensure that all safety procedures are followed +  Ensure that all equipment safeties are not altered or defeated + Other duties as assigned Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, or 5-7 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience + Prior experience in Lean Manufacturing Disciplines + Prior experience in Injection Mold Processing preferred + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Technical Drawings and technical information documents + Create technical documents for use in the Injection Molding, other departments, and APEX Customers + Ability to write and professionally present technical information to small groups + Should be creative and should posses ability to use modern technology in the manufacturing process + Familiar with the manufacturing process and concepts that are followed traditionally + Possess strong computer, mathematical, reading, writing skills + Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. + Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information, electronic data, drawings and data in an efficient manner. + Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.  + Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time. + Must be able to climb up and down stairs. + Support cross functional teams and departments as required. + Perform job duties in accordance to ISO 13485/9001 including ISO audits. + Travel is required to support company initiatives.
