Manufacturing Engineer Job Description

Formal Education/TrainingBS DegreeManufacturing EngineeringProcess EngineeringIndustrial EngineeringConstruction ManagementProfessional Experience (minimum 5 yrs)Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and/or  Construction Management experience in MTO and ETO complex manufacturing.  Experience with processing manual/labor intensive assembly operations as opposed to CNC, automated systems, or technologically driven mechanical manufacturing methods. Professional or even personal experience in building and construction preferred.Experience should include planning the integration of manufacturing of some of the following systems: Welded Structures, Fastened/Assembled  Components, HVAC Systems, 12V Electrical Systems, Data/AV Comm Systems, High Voltage Electrical Systems, Power Generation and Controls, Sound and Thermal Insulation Systems, Interior Finishes, Integrated Cabinetry Solutions, Ceiling Systems, Flooring Systems, Hydraulic Systems, Plumbing Systems, Pneumatic Systems, Security Systems, Fire Detection and Suppression Systems, SKIF Rooms, Stair and Lift Integration, Door Integration (Entry Doors, Roll Doors, Interior Doors, RF Doors, Magnetic Shielded Doors, Leaded Doors.Adept in applying engineering principles throughout the manufacturing process.  Examples include the selection and use of threaded fasteners, rivets, adhesives, paints, coatings, galvanic corrosion prevention methods, etc..   Preferred Capabilities/Skills:ERP Data Base ExperienceUnderstands how databases tables are structured to functionally reverse data entry mistakes.  Example corrections:  Labor hour entries, purchase receipts, inventory transactions, back flushing functions.  Syteline experience a plus, but other ERP Database operational knowledge is functionally transferable.Lean Experience (Waste Identification, Kaizen Efforts, Value Steam Mapping, Standards Work, 6S, ect.)Provide details of several actual lean projects completed, leadership involvement, challenges encountered, and results achieved.Standard Work Development  (Research Processes, Document with Illustrations, Conduct Training) Examples include:Rivet Usage and Installation (grip range, strength, corrosion)Fastener Usage and Installation (torque, anti-seize, thread locking, hole size, corrosion, etc…)Specific Responsibilities (Excellent Performance Outcomes):Create Integrated Manufacturing Plans for all Jobs.Actively Facilitate with Engineering on BOM execution and Build Phase Stages.Help facilitate the validation of actual BOM content and reported hours against Quoted Option StandardsLead and facilitate Team Kaizen efforts.Develop and Document Work Instructions and Standardize Work.Job and Database Management:Material Positioning within Phases for proper Back Flushing
