Key job responsibilities
*** 2nd Shift Schedule Hours: 5:00PM - 1:00AM****
- Troubleshoot production issues in a timely manner
- Support and manage daily production operations and eliminate blockers and/or part shortages
- Work with cross functional teams to solve production issues
- Provide design for manufacturability feedback and drive positive continuous change to hardware
- Work with process, quality, and design engineers to continuously improve manufacturing processes

A day in the life
A Manufacturing Engineer in this role will be supporting the technician team by resolving any obstacles and working with responsible engineers to disposition non-conformances. This individual will work closely with engineering teams in specifying and building or procuring tools and line equipment for Kuiper hardware builds. The successful candidate has some basic experience in supporting production of space hardware through development, QTP (qualification test procedures), and flight hardware ATP (acceptance test procedures).

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
- 2+ year experience with integrating, testing and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems
- 1+ year experience with Computer Aided Design tools such as Solidworks or NX/Unigraphics
Preferred Qualifications
- - Related experience from internships or college organizations- Technical writing experience, including work instructions, standard operating procedures and/or test plans.
- - Experienced with various automated manufacturing processes, including assembly and test methods at component level, subsystem, and system level.
- - Experienced with handling and tracking systems for continuous material flow to manufacturing lines.
- - Familiar with QTP/ATP, functional testing, and/or environmental testing such as thermal, acoustic, or vibe.
- - Experience supporting both Development and Production programs
- - Formal training/certification in Operational Excellence Systems (Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.) a plus.
- - Strong organizational, analytical, root cause analysis and problem solving skills.
- - Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $86,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
