POSITION SUMMARY:

As a member of the Machine Shop’s Technical Team, the Engineering Technician will be responsible for developing and maintaining processes, allowing us to meet our customers’ quality and delivery demands. This includes ownership of part routings, machining processes for CNC machines, operator work instructions, inspection criteria, and other aspects of process control. This position is located in West Chester, PA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specify manufacturing methods, part routings, and CNC programsCreate and improve standard workCreate and update process documentation. This includes work instructions and training documentation.Specify and order gages, tooling, and equipmentDesign and document fixturing and tools using CAD/CAM softwareSystematically reduce machine set-up times (SMED)Set-up, and operate machines where direct labor associates are not availablePerform basic troubleshooting or repairs of equipmentComplete initial mechanical and electrical root cause analysis for equipment failuresPerform equipment validation or calibration as neededPerform root cause analysis and countermeasure development for quality issuesWork closely with Quality Assurance to perform failure analysis for defective componentsSubmit deviation and Engineering Change Order requests as neededTrain and audit machine operatorsPoint of contact for technical questions and challenges from operatorsUtilize the Regal Rexnord Business System methodology to continuously improve our processes; via Daily Management and by participating in Kaizen events.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree or higher in mechanical discipline preferred3 years of previous experience preferred.Programming and setup skills of CNC lathes/mills required.Swiss lathe experience preferredExperience working in a Quality Management System preferred (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100)Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience preferred
