SUMMARY
The primary objective of the Manufacturing Engineering Team is to facilitate the manufacture of Kollmorgen products by removing obstacles to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity. Manufacturing Engineering Technicians ensure the Associates doing the work have the resources, direction, and knowledge to do their job properly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support Product Line manufacturing by investigating and resolving product, process, or equipment issues in a thorough and timely mannerProvide daily oversight and support to areas in the factory where associates are in trainingProvide direct training in areas of expertiseInvestigate and create rework plans for discrepant productsStops production and escalates safety, quality, or productivity issues as neededDetermine tooling needs for production and procure small tools and equipment as neededCreate and maintain process documentation and work instructionsConduct time studies and create standard work playbooks to ensure effective and efficient productionDevelop training plans for Associates and audit implementation of those training plansEvaluates effectiveness of Training Plans for specific role, suggests and implements improvements to existing Training Plan documentsSchedules Training Plan signoffs and audit steps with Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or Manufacturing ManagerSchedules weekly training progress meetings with Trainee, Trainer, Manufacturing Manager, Quality Engineer, and Manufacturing Engineer.Conduct audits of cells, individuals, or products to assess compliance to documented processesConduct safety audits and implement countermeasures for safety issuesCoordinate the installation and start-up of replacement production equipmentParticipate in Kaizen eventsCritical Competencies
