Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Summer 2025 Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our Production Support Engineering Team in King of Prussia, PA! The successful candidate will have experience in and/or knowledge of manufacturing operations related to electronics assembly, circuit card assembly, cable & harness assembly, mechanical assembly, vehicle assembly, and/or electro-mechanical assembly.

Summary of Key Duties for this position:
• You will support development and production of weapon systems, ground support equipment, and satellite electronics boxes.
• You will design manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.
• You will write production plans, inspect and assess defective hardware, and optimize production flows to meet program deliverables.
• You will support Production Operations in prioritizing work in process to meet program delivery schedules.
• You will communicate with shop floor personnel to implement process improvements and gain efficiencies.
• You will create tool designs, analyze shop performance, and support Quality Assurance in root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related defects.

Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Actively enrolled in a Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or other related degree program from an accredited college/university.
• Understanding of manufacturing or production processes.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply basic GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles.
• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
• Prior manufacturing internship experience
• Demonstrated understanding of lean manufacturing techniques and principles as well as work measurements and labor standards.
• Demonstrated experience with high-mix, low volume production operations.
• Working understanding of electronics assembly processes, methodologies, and equipment.
• Experience in SAP is a plus.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and collaboration skills required in a team environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office.
• Active Top Secret security clearance is desired.
• Experience operating in an aerospace or defense production environment.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
