Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the maintenance, tooling, and manufacturing engineering departments, facilitating efficient manufacturing operations across the organization.
ResponsibilitiesRecruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.Oversees the daily workflow of the department.Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.Collaborates with other manufacturing managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams.Assesses cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; makes and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.Supervises tooling operations, ensuring all work is performed accurately and according to quality and safety standards.Provides guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant renovations and expansions; coordinates outside contractors and vendors.Assists maintenance personnel and/or other appropriate leadership with programs, activities, and responsibilities of the maintenance department.Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements.Performs other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsThorough understanding of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling.Full understanding of production machining/turning of ductile iron.Design and development of CNC production fixturing.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong supervisory and leadership skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare budgets and records.Additional Skills & QualificationsGibbsCam experience preferred.Bachelor’s or Technical degree in Industrial Management and/or Engineering or equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering field, required.At least five years of supervisory experience preferred.Work Environment
The work environment includes both office and manufacturing settings. While performing these duties, the person is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, bend, climb stairs, kneel, or crouch. Employees may need to regularly lift at least 25 lbs. and may need to exert themselves while performing tasks. The role involves a variety of physical labor, including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for long periods. Proper PPE is required in the manufacturing area. Reasonable accommodations will be made as needed to ensure staff safety, and assistance will be provided if an employee is unable to complete a task.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $120000.00
