Manufacturing Engineering Manager II

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will lead Global Manufacturing Design Engineering team at Micro Motion Division in Regal Rexnord, responsible to deliver on time Design for manufacturability and Assembly (DFM&A) processes with Line readiness & Equipment readiness to successfully Industrialize New Products.  

LOCATION: 

This is a hybrid role and requires three (3) days per week at the West Chester PA facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead Manufacturing Readiness Level for Strategic Technology projects / Platform Executions / Customer Lead Executions as per Customer New Product Development process/NPI Stages/ Execution Needs by Design and Development of Assembly process & Line setup, Jigs, fixtures & gauges for Micro Motion Systems.

Work closely with Design Engineering Lead and Custom Engineering Lead to ensure Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM&A) during concept design stage, mapping of new manufacturing processes & Equipment, Estimation of the required capabilities, cycle time estimates and Forecast investment for production volumes.  

Responsible for implementing PPAP including Manufacturing Flow Charts, Standard Work, procedures, Control Plans and PFMEAs as prescribed by ISO standards and RBS.

Continuously track & improve Rolled throughput yield of first three production lots of New Products (>95%).

Responsible for smooth transition of new products from concept/prototype to production.

Interact with customers to benchmark manufacturing processes and provide continuous feedback to internal customer teams.

Continuous Interaction with Machine suppliers to understand/Benchmark/ next gen machines and its efficiencies.  

Support manufacturing on critical to quality process projects to implement new technologies to improve existing equipment/processes for sustainable quality. 

Lead Technology Transfer efforts with cross functional teams (Eng/Manf/Customers). 

Work with close partnership with Operations while executing the projects

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering

Experience managing a team of engineers

10 + years of experience in Process Design / Manufacturing Engineering

Strong knowledge and experience in precision engineering. 

Experience leading Manufacturing / Process Teams in a global environment with know-how of New Products Gated Development methodology.

Strong knowledge and experience in Product Development Cycle (APQP) in an engineering / manufacturing product line from concept to launch, small / medium size / precise products, rotary machines / OEM.

Ability to accommodate up to 20% global and domestic travel

Driven by a continuous improvement philosophy

Fluency in oral and written English communication
