You will be the Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the Machining Operations Center (MOC). MOC produces ultra-precision machined components that are the foundation of infrared and electro-optical targeting systems used primarily for defense applications. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business execution, growth, technology advancement, strategic planning, and talent development within the MOC.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for driving business execution, growth, technology advancement, strategic planning, and talent development within the MOC. You will lead a team of manufacturing engineers to develop and implement innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and continuously improving manufacturing processes using tools such as statistical process control, design of experiments, advanced analytics, automation, and root cause analysis
• Leading the team through technical and logistical aspects of non-recurring projects, including interactions with system design teams focused on design for manufacture and automation
• Ensuring engagement with industry and driving execution of research and development activities to maintain world-class manufacturing capability
• Developing and executing capital improvement plans, including leveraging existing technology and extending capability to support capacity and next-generation needs
• Maintaining responsibility for manpower planning and hiring, leading development and execution of training activities, and maintaining recurring feedback and performance conversations with manufacturing engineering team members

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Must be a U.S. citizen due to facility requirements
• Basic understanding of machining (CNC lathes, CNC mills, etc.) capabilities, methods, cutting tools, and fixtures used to manufacture precision components made from aluminum alloys, stainless steels, titanium and other common aerospace alloys.
• Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM systems and tooling concepts for precision machining operations.
• Good drawing/blue-print and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation skills.
• Proficient in utilizing Computer-Aided (CAD) – PTC Creo or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of precision measuring tools, gauges, and equipment.
• General understanding of typical Mil-Spec special processes (heat treatment, chem-film, anodize, passivation, organic coatings, etc.).
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong technical leadership with a demonstrated ability to lead team through technical and logistical challenges.
• Effective project management.
Desired Skills:
* Demonstrated experience developing and troubleshooting machining processes in a production environment.
* Demonstrated identification and execution of research and development projects in the field of machining.
* Demonstrated leadership of non-recurring activities including technical and logistical planning, execution and communication with program teams.
* Demonstrated planning and execution of capital projects including technology identification, justification and specification.
* Demonstrated leadership of diverse teams performing in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated communications from shop floor to senior leadership.
* Tactical use of CAD/CAM systems including PTC Creo CAD/CAM and Siemens NX.
* Windchill PLM
* Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools, including of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
* Familiarity with ISO9000 and AS9100 industry standards, and common military specifications.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
