You will be the Manufacturing Engineering Subject Matter Expert for the Advanced Programs line of business. Our team is responsible for developing all of the new products / systems at Missiles and Fire Control.



What You Will Be Doing
As the Manufacturing Engineering Subject Matter Expert (ME SME), the selected candidate will need to have the experience to determine how the product design directly relates to producibility, cycle time, and ultimately cost. The ME SME will be required to interface with Global Supply Chain (GSC) to review new product component and material selection to determine any potential cost or cycle time drivers. The ME SME will also interface with GSC to provide support for subcontractor producibility reviews. The ME SME will service multiple programs across multiple lines of business and will be required to effectively partner with the program specific Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering teams. This position would be an excellent role for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer or a Mechanical Engineer with manufacturing experience.

Travel of approximately 25% will be required.

This position typically requires 11+ years of professional experience depending on level of education.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline or equivalent combination of experience and
education
• Must be a U.S citizen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance
• 10+ years of Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering experience
• Experience with development programs
• Knowledge of the product design process
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration
• Process improvement experience
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
• Ability to interpret drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications and other
systems integration technical data
• Demonstrated effective communication skills including verbal, listening, technical writing and presentations
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve
technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
• Ability to lead and influence teams across multiple locations
• Ability to act as a liaison between multiple functions including external subcontractors
Desired Skills:
Bachelors or higher degree in an engineering discipline
• Understanding of missile system products, laser weapons systems, and/or similar complexity products
• Previous MFC program experience
• Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
• Ability to utilize lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement
• Experience in design for manufacturing / assembly and design to cost
• Ability to effectively present technical information to non- technical people
• Experience with manufacturing automation concepts and implementation 
• Experience with manufacturing simulation / modeling tools
• Experience with advanced manufacturing and materials concepts including additive machining

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
