Job Scope

The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor is responsible for directing Manufacturing Engineering activities to support all aspects of manufacturing processes utilizing lean manufacturing principles. The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor builds successful teams, develops, and leads people to achieve continuous improvements and drives change throughout the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities

Responsible for implementing strategy and achieving commitments/goals related to existing product requirements, new product development/launches, and continuous improvement.Continuously improves product and service Quality, Cost, and Delivery, with a focus on manufacturing lead-time and improving inventory turns.Coordinates, supports, and maintains Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts within the Supply Chain to promote continuous process improvement activities.Knows current Supply Chain constraints and works proactively with Manufacturing and Planning with actions to resolve them in a timely manner.Conducts annual performance reviews, coaching team to build strong relationships, achieve results, and ensures adequate training and skills development.Promotes safety to direct reports within daily tasks in a manner that encourages cooperation and improved morale.Leads quality and continuous improvement activities in all processes by establishing clear vision and values and supporting them with appropriate Manufacturing Engineering resources.Helps develop annual operating budget and manages activities to achieve expected results.Ensures Manufacturing Engineering is working closely with Supply Chain (in-house manufacturing and outside suppliers) to continuously improve product quality, costs, and throughput results.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field plus at least 3 - 5 years of experience in orthopedic industry design or related field.  Leadership or project leadership/management experience a plus. Proven knowledge and experience in implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts and techniques.Familiarity with Six Sigma quality concepts.Knowledge and experience with ERP/MRP systems and their applications.Exceptional organizational skills with extensive knowledge of MS Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook).Excellent leadership skills and ability to motivate others to work as a team toward a common goal.Comprehensive understanding of ISO 9001 is required as a minimum. Experience and understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA GMP title 21 Part 820 preferred.Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to read, understand and complete all paperwork.

Target Compensation: $115,164.45 – $140,756.55
