BWXT is currently seeking a Manufacturing/Equipment Engineer for its Lynchburg, VA location!

 

The Manufacturing/Equipment Engineer provides engineering support for shop floor operations while continuously putting safety first. 

 

Job Description/Duties:

Provides operations support in a manufacturing unit and functions as the area expert for equipment and processes. Interfaces with operators to troubleshoot or resolve equipment and operation problems as they arise. Designs and implements manufacturing processes for new and existing equipment based on customer requirements. Develops and maintains operating procedures as well as technical documents for area processes and equipment. Implements process improvements for safety and efficiency. Assists Engineering personnel with data analysis and submits documents for approval of new or modified processes. Facilitates communication between operators, management, maintenance, and other internal and external stakeholders. Develops technical specifications for new hardware and software procurements or development. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus two (2) years of related experience is required.  Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Must have demonstrated technical and critical thinking skills. A strong focus on Safety and Quality is required. Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and the ability to work with minimal supervision. 

Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with hourly and salary personnel is required.

Must have demonstrated superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities is required. Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

 

 

 

Pay: $77,000 - $112,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $77,000 and $112,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
