Xerox Corporation is looking for a talented and dedicated mechanical or industrial engineering student to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary manufacturing environment to develop data acquisition tools to enable the collection of useful process data.
Xerox is an industry leader in monochrome and color printing with a product portfolio designed to support a range of customer needs from the office to high-end production systems. These systems enable high quality output for customers by utilizing inkjet and xerographic marking technologies to print on a variety of paper, and specialty media
The engineering intern will become an part of a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on the manufacturing of components and resins used in these xerographic technologies.
While working closely with experienced engineers job duties to include as necessary:
The generation and selection of ideas in to improve data collection.Analyze and design solutions utilizing Canary data historian and Business Intelligence reporting.Review interface with process engineering and improve on the display and use of the data.Working with local IT engineering, upgrade and configure process computers to current version of software.Update listing of all site computer and network assets and map site network infrastructure.Perform appropriate validation testing on computers and network systems.Deliver timely status updates and prepare and deliver presentation at end of internship.
Additional Requirements, Skills and Qualifications:
BS or MS student in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or similar)Strong mechanical aptitudeExperience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)Possess good oral and written communication skillsHighly self-motivated with a strong desire to learnKnowledge of data acquisition and data analysis tools preferred
