**Summary**
Leads and assists with the work activities of Production staff. Responsible for coordinating and monitoring manufacturing activities and maintaining optimum flow of quality work in all processes.
**Responsibilities**
• Assists Production Supervisor with assigning jobs and monitoring employee performance to achieve an efficient operation.
• Assists Production Supervisor with ensuring all manufacturing orders are followed through properly to completion and are documented properly prior to turning in.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and assists with implementation of process improvements.
• Responsible for training team members on existing processes, equipment operation and cross-training to expand job rotation opportunities.
• Maintains production work area in a clean and organized condition.
• Responsible for recognizing product and or equipment problems that arise during the manufacturing process.
• Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of the job.
• Provides support and backup for Supervisor on manufacturing floor activities.
• Is capable of entering Manufacturing data into ERP (JDE) and will do so at direction of Supervisor.
• Provides feedback to Manufacturing Supervisor on team members and process performance.
• Performs other duties and tasks that may be assigned by Production Supervisor and Senior Manager, Manufacturing.
• Supports R&D builds as needed.
• Provides assistance to engineering including investigation and R&D production.
• Works closely with warehouse and assemblers to help facilitate inventory accuracy.
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Escalates concerns related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People (SQDCP) to supervisor or immediate support teams timely.
**Qualifications**
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4-year college degree (engineering or related) preferred.
• Three (3) or more years’ experience in a directly related field required. (Pharma or medical devices industry)
• Minimum of one (1) year supervisory or lead experience required.
• Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing concepts and methodologies.
• Must have basic math and computer skills required. (MS Office)
• Must have experience working with semi-automated equipment.
• Must have good organization skills.
• Demonstrates a solid attendance record.
• Ability to use basic tools of measurement, such as microscopes.
• Ability to perform manufacturing operations with a high degree of skill and efficiency.
• Ability to follow supervisor’s instructions and approach job with a positive attitude.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work in a team oriented environment to accomplish departmental and company goals.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as manufacturing procedures, forms, drawings, safety rules, and manuals.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high urgency environment while maintaining quality standards.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT / DEMANDS OF THE POSITION**
• Travel – No travel is expected with this position.
• Physical Demand – While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. Occasionally the employee may be required to lift or move at least 50 pounds. **Salary Range Information**
$29.30 - $45.30 USD Hourly
