Job Description
Assembly Technicians are responsible for the mechanical assembly of machinery, assemblies, and equipment. They must be able to work with or without the aid of drawings and/or schematics. Fabrication and occasional rework of parts (cutting, grinding, drilling, tapping, welding, etc.) will be required to complete assemblies. The role involves assembling conveyors, mixers, and other components of large-scale machines.
ResponsibilitiesInterpret and follow verbal, written, and drawn instructions.Assemble parts using a wide variety of fasteners and joining techniques.Maintain work area cleanliness, functionality, and safe conditions.Perform all assigned tasks in a limited amount of time, within acceptable quality limits, and while following safe work practices.Report on assembly progress and suggest countermeasures to maintain or recover schedules.Identify and suggest productivity and/or quality improvements to Supervisors and/or Engineers.Essential SkillsRelevant mechanical assembly experience.Ability to comprehend and execute verbal, written, and drawn instructions (including 2D and 3D engineering drawings and/or schematics).Solid mechanical aptitude enabling sound judgment in the proper use of fasteners and assembly steps.Comfortable working with a wide variety of hand, electrical, and pneumatic tools, and understanding which tools are best to use in a given situation.Ability to assess problematic situations, diagnose potential issues, and repair problems.Ability to lift 50 pounds.Ability to safely operate a fork truck.Additional Skills & QualificationsTrade school education.Ability to weld (preferred but not required).Computer experience, especially for referencing drawings and models.Work Environment
The work environment is a very clean facility, although it is not climate-controlled. There are two facilities: one is part of the main building, and the other is next door. Employees will work indoors approximately 95% of the time and outdoors 5% of the time. The facility is heated in the winter but not air-conditioned in the summer. Employees must be able to stand on concrete floors for a minimum of eight hours and may need to kneel, squat, bend over, and stand for long periods. The work environment can occasionally be loud, especially in areas where grinding or machine testing is taking place; ear plugs are provided and required where posted. Employees must be able to work with both live wire (up to 575V) and dead wire conditions, with live wire conditions making up less than 20% of the normal working environment. The typical shift is from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday through Friday, with the possibility of extending to 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm and overtime on Saturdays.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
