MISSION / SUMMARY:

Direct the production operations at Wausau to align GPI business, cultural, financial, and operational objectives to exceed customer expectations.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

Evaluate and implement all production documentation and best demonstrated practices that affect Wausau, and coordinate technology transfers between Wausau and other GPI facilities. Track metrics daily to ensure departments are running effectively. Responds in an appropriate time and manner regarding customer needs. Challenge speed limiting and process roadblocks with the equipment and crews. Focus effort on continual improvement to reduce spoilage. Enforce all Plant rules and issue disciplinary action as required in accordance with guidelines. Provide periodic performance feedback and counseling to employees. Coordinate process and material trials in the department. Other duties as assigned.

 

BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Familiarity with online production reporting system, such as SAP preferred. 5-7 years managing a manufacturing department.

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:

Four-year degree in Engineering or Business preferred; or closely related work experience required in lieu of degree.

 

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

General schedule is an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules occasionally; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so. Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, or riding.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sitting or standing for extended periods of time up to 8-hours. Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs. Reading computer screen or other electronic devices. Use of various office hand and electrical tools or equipment.

Pay Range:   $112,005.00 - $149,340.00
