Job Description
We are seeking a Manufacturing Manager to oversee the daily operations of our manufacturing facility. This role requires a hands-on management approach and involves supervising a diverse team, including office staff, fabricators, welders, machinists, technicians, and chemists, to ensure the production of high-quality goods within cost and time constraints.
ResponsibilitiesStrategically oversee the production process, ensuring efficient operation, cost-effectiveness, and timely output of high-quality products.Establish the yearly budget for the plant.Develop and manage the production schedule, estimate costs, and establish and ensure quality standards.Allocate labor and material resources effectively, adjusting plans as necessary to meet production targets.Oversee equipment selection and maintenance, ensuring optimal performance.Implement and monitor quality control programs to uphold product standards.Maintain comprehensive records of material inventory, production progress, and material location.Collaborate with other departments to align production with broader company goals.Enforce health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe workplace environment.Lead, motivate, and develop a team, identifying training needs and evaluating performance.Perform other duties as assigned by management.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.5-10 years of experience in production or plant management, preferably in a related industry of metal fabrication and integration.Proficiency in ISO 9001:2015 preferred.Knowledge and experience in ERP systems, preferably Microsoft NAV.Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially MS Excel and MS Project.Understanding of ASTM & AWS standards, with experience in steel fabrication.Demonstrated leadership in managing production floor operations.Comprehensive knowledge of raw materials, production processes, configuration management, quality control, and industrial equipment.Exceptional managerial, communication, and problem-solving skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in defense and aerospace industries is beneficial.Familiarity with supply chain and purchasing management.Work Environment
The role is based in a large, fairly new manufacturing facility in Nottingham (White Marsh), MD. The facility specializes in building Blast Containment Vessels for DOD/Government customers such as TSA, DOD, and U.S. Customs & Border Patrol. The environment is dynamic and focuses on producing high-readiness solutions for defense and law enforcement markets.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $155000.00 - $170000.00
