Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Purpose of Position:
Drive Department Operations to become the lowest cost, highest quality cable manufacturer with customer satisfaction second to none. Improve HCF, Divisional and NAFTA manufacturing operations through full engagement with HCF Ribbon Ops, WCP and RY manufacturing facilities

Major Responsibilities – Ongoing Tasks:

Assess the business environment and commercial business plans considering local conditions to craft FR Ops. initiatives. Flesh out HCF Initiatives into actionable objectives, balanced metrics and subsequent prioritized projects. Consistently deliver better than expected results through rigorous execution of current processes, and early adoption of “break-through” innovations in operations. Ensure operational decisions are made with a keen understanding of the financial health of FR Ops and the plant as a whole. Balance tactical and strategic thinking. Cast vision to inspire and motivate FR Ops. population to engage in aggressive continuous improvement of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Moral Effectively communicate to and relate with individuals in all levels of the organization, from the shop floor employees to the upper management. Persuade through both written and verbal communication and presentation. Build networks across the company to pull in best practices. Ensure we have the right people, in the right positions in FR Ops. Hire and develop industry-best talent for deep bench strength in succession planning. Ensure that FR Ops. Tasks are performed with the highest of ethical conduct, and in compliance will all legal requirements. Develop team leaders into a high-performance team. Use rigorous logic and methods (DMAIC) to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; probes all fruitful sources for answers, is excellent at honest analysis, doesn't stop at the first answer.  Willing to get into the details to solve a problem.

 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or other related field A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with progressive levels of responsibility. Champions cross-functional collaboration Adept at communicating priority changes and creating buy-in during difficult situations. Maintains positive attitude in the face of adversity. Ability to solve complex problems in high paced, manufacturing environment. Ability to work beyond role definition to ensure business objectives are achieved. Effective communication skills to all levels of the organization.

 

Desired Qualifications:

MS in Engineering/MBA Project management experience. Experience leading large organizations (>100 employees) Record of exceeding objectives and leading large change initiatives

The range for this position is $118,428.00 - $162,839.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
