Walpole, MA

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for the technical oversight of manufacturing processes within Defense Naval Walpole Site.  You will be providing technical support to operations and execute Manufacturing Engineering activities to develop, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture, which are capable of meeting and continuing to meet business and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, deliver rate and leadtime (SQCD).

Key Accountabilities:

Developing manufacturing processes that are applicable to standards and developing those techniques, as needed for new projects and products

Support new equipment evaluation and installation as required

Initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality

Supporting bid proposals for current and new opportunities

Incorporate Lean Manufacturing best practices and working in a culture focused on continuous improvement

Supporting manufacturing with production readiness, process routings, ERP system support and documentation

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing - Work with interfacing teams and local experts to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes and digital systems are understood and accounted for as required. Capture and utilise lessons learnt. Identify, document and share best practice, including by participation in relevant Communities of Practice.

Basic Requirements:

Associates degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing/Engineering with 4+ years’ experience working in manufacturing

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing/Engineering with 2+ years’ experience working in manufacturing

Masters’ degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing/Engineering with experience working in manufacturing

In lieu of degree, 6+ years’ experience of working in manufacturing

In order to be considered for this opportunity you must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to get DoD security clearance, confidential

General understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their business

General awareness of Manufacturing Systems and enabling software tools relevant to the business

Preferred Requirements:

Classified Clearance

A basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

Aerospace and Defense Industry Experience

Six Sigma Green or Black Belt accreditation
