Production Supervisor - Manufacturing
Opportunity summary: As a Manufacturing Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of production in the facility. In this role you will communicate performance expectations to shift workers, ensure production targets and metrics are met to achieve production demands, supervise machine productivity and quality, and manage personnel daily.
Shift: Must be able to work a rotating shift - The shift changes weekly 1st, 2nd, 3rd
How you will impact WestRock:
Execute safety briefs to crews on designated shift, daily, weekly, monthly and annually Monitor workplace safety environment to identify and address any unsafe conditionsEnsure compliance with company safety policies, safe work practices, and plant policiesMonitor and track production daily goals for the Converting machines utilizing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report results on the plant scorecardManage workforce planning, including fulfillment of work schedules and adherence to attendance policies (vacations, floating days, call ins, etc.) Communicate effectively with all functional areas of the plant to ensure all production needs are successfully achievedPromote positive employee relations and interdepartmental communication and collaborationSupervise daily production activities, including oversight of team members, and monitor performance levels of each team memberMonitor and participate in Daily Management Systems (DMS) to track progress against production goals and enable performance excellence
What you need to succeed:
High School diploma or G.E.D.3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience or working in a production environmentDemonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and WordDemonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures, and machineryProven experience utilizing plant program technology. such as AS/400, Kiwi, etc.Ability to be an on-shift resource for troubleshooting problems in the process as well as maintenance issuesAbility to make independent, effective decisionsPossess ability to be a self-directed team playerAbility to problem solve and analyze line operations with minimal developmental guidanceProven successful track record in managing, motivating and building teamsAbility to communicate effectively and adjust communication style based on audienceFlexibility to work multiple shiftsA background in maintenance or mechanics is preferred Smurfit Westrock is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The salary range for this position is $65,625.00 - $109,375.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work. Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience, and education.
