Manufacturing Productivity and Supplier Capability Lead
Job Description SummaryThe DtV Manufacturing productivity and supplier capability Lead is responsible to drive Variable Cost Productivity (VCP) through Supplier collaborations for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) products. This role will work with cross-functional teams to identify cost out opportunities from the supply base for both Installed Base (IB) products and NPI programs. This role is responsible for leading the planning, prework, project prioritization and execution related to supplier focused Disruptive Cost Workouts (DCW). As part of the DtV team, this role will lead identification of cost reduction opportunities through manufacturing process optimization/Lean principles, improve cost transparency, DfX (Mfg, Cost, Value), and engineering partnerships. This role will also lead internal and competitive design tear down activities to impact current design, platform design, ATD (Advanced Technology Design), and NPI (New Product introduction) ICV (Inventory Cost Value) optimization efforts.

Job DescriptionLead all aspects of Disruptive Cost Workouts (DCW) with Suppliers – end to end ownership from pre-work to VCP (Variable Cost Productivity) realizationPlan onsite and remote Supplier DCWs – schedule, scope, process, participant involvement, project consolidation, prioritization, execution controlLead analytical data for DCWs: sourcing data, should cost models, spend / productivity trends, prior supplier change requests (SCR), part design history, supplier data collection (profile, infrastructure, capability, capacity, cost inputs), preliminary VCP ideation (internal)Lead actual DCW workout: ideation, data collection onsite, brainstorming with cross functional teams, GEMBA, idea shortlisting, and roadmap for executionLead discussions on design for manufacturing (DFM), design to cost (DTC), total cost of ownership (TCO), and future NPI roadmap considerationsLean improvement focus: identify opportunities of improvement across cost drivers – material, labor, machine usage (setup / cycle times), overall efficiencies, reduction of waste – conduct workshops for ideation, get supplier buy in and coordinate implementation activitiesTrack ideas to closure and productivity realization (qualification, execution, $ outcome)Support sourcing teams for cost negotiations through data fact packs and strategiesPartner with cross functional teams internally:  engineering, supply quality, AME, operations, sourcing, supplier capabilityLead discussions with engineering related to design strategies (NPI/ECR) - Involve suppliers during NPI to get inputs on part designs for ICV cost optimizationManage potential risks during supplier transfers and identify resolution actionsCoordinate with Suppliers, internal engineering, and supply chain teams

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related fieldAt least 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience in general manufacturing processes (ie-Fabrication, Plastics, EMSi, Mech)Excellent communication skills, program management skillsExperience in High tech low volume – high mix manufacturing environmentLocalization and cost reduction experienceLocation:  Waukesha WITravel up to 25% to supplier sites and GEHC MR locations
