Manufacturing Scheduler - MS Project
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Manufacturing Scheduler to manage production schedules and ensure timely delivery of products. The Manufacturing Scheduler will work closely with production teams, procurement, and other departments to develop efficient schedules, balance workloads, and optimize manufacturing processes. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Production Scheduling:Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, material availability, and production capacity.Coordinate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure timely completion of scheduled tasks.Monitor production progress and make adjustments to schedules as needed to meet deadlines and production goals.Capacity Planning:Assess production capacity and determine workforce and equipment needs to meet schedule requirements.Identify potential bottlenecks or resource shortages and develop strategies to mitigate them.Adjust schedules to accommodate changes in production capacity, equipment breakdowns, or other unforeseen issues.Material Coordination:Work with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure that all necessary materials and components are available for scheduled production runs.Monitor inventory levels and lead times to avoid production delays due to material shortages.Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.Process Optimization:Continuously review and optimize production schedules to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and maximize equipment utilization.Implement scheduling best practices and lean manufacturing principles to streamline workflows.Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify opportunities for process improvements.Communication & Reporting:Communicate schedules, changes, and updates to all relevant departments, including production, quality, and procurement teams.Prepare and distribute daily or weekly production reports that highlight progress, delays, and upcoming tasks.Attend production meetings and provide insights on schedule adherence and potential risks.Problem Solving:Address scheduling conflicts, equipment issues, or material shortages that may impact production timelines.Investigate root causes of delays and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve scheduling issues in a timely and efficient manner.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).3+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, workflows, and capacity planning.Proficiency in production scheduling software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple schedules simultaneously.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
