Scope of Position: In this role you will supervise, coordinate, and coach employees engaged in production of WIP components or finished good product for the Life Sciences businesses at the plant. You will be responsible for shift performance towards production objectives and personnel adherence to facility procedures, policies, and documentation.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Achieve superior safety and housekeeping performance Support all safety, quality, and production goals Prioritize and support production schedules based on equipment efficiency, materials supply, and labor resources to ensure daily production goals are met for quality and quantity Provide direct supervision and daily work assignments and instruction to subordinates Direct subordinates to achieve individual, team, and identified plant goals and objectives Provide immediate supervision to a team of employees by assigning tasks, checking work, and ensuring resources align with production/scheduling needs Responsible for holding teams to standard operating procedures, code of conduct, plant/company and safety rules, collective bargaining agreement Engage Union workforce by setting clear expectations and cultivating team accountability Interact daily with all levels of the organization to facilitate exchange of critical information Define and achieve quality performance that allows Oneonta to meet or exceed expectations and manufacturing goals and cost objectives Drive continual process improvement utilizing Six Sigma Processes Gain and utilize knowledge of process control for manufacturing decision-making Gather and analyze Process data relating to Continuous Flow process Play a key role in supporting continuous improvement efforts to achieve and sustain equipment availability and line performance goals Support new product implementations as required
Travel Requirements: <5%, Occasional trips to Corning, NY or Tewksbury, MA
Shift: We are a 24/7 facility, shifts available are 7:00 am – 7:00 pm and 7:00 pm – 7:00 am, some flex time as required. Need to be flexible for either shift.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree Minimum 1+ years supervisory or manufacturing experience
Required Skills:
Excellent leadership skills, ability to work at all levels of the organization, continuously mentor, coach or teach Critical decision-making skills, lead to SOP, trouble shoot and act under pressure Ability to work towards root cause analysis and direct Engineering solutions Ability to understand and own multiple areas in the plant in order to prioritize and assign work and resources Principled in approach to processes, policies, and people Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Intermediate level
Desired Skills:
Basic Statistical knowledge Understanding of manufacturing systems/operations Lean Manufacturing experience

The range for this position is $61,849.00 - $85,043.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
