Opportunity:  We are an Extrusion coating manufacturing operation seeking a Production Supervisor to join our Prosperity, South Carolina team. 

 

Mission:  The production supervisor oversees manufacturing processes, coordinates and supervises hourly production, warehouse, and maintenance personnel to meet/exceed the company’s key performance indicators (Safety, Quality, and Productivity).  This includes but is not limited to managing equipment to produce a product that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations, safety, equipment, production and quality, continuous improvement, development, and management of its human resources.   

 

Job Functions:

Facilitate day-to-day activities of the team. Directly supervise 15-18 team members and carry out supervisory responsibilities per the organizations' policies and applicable laws to include: training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding/disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems. Serve as a direct link between hourly teams and plant management. Works with team members to help them reach their full potential. Weekly start-up and/or shut down of equipment. Study production schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of production orders. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. Challenge speed-limiting factors of the machine and team. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Prepare and distribute daily shift performance reports. Ensures that Safety/Housekeeping procedures and acceptable work practices are being followed throughout the shift. Facilitates team meetings. Actively involve the department manager, maintenance, and other key personnel in solving machine issues and/or breaks. Integral partner for Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to support safety policies and procedures, and identify corrective actions for the team. Lead Shift Start up Meetings 

Required Skills:

3-5 years of progressive production supervision. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Effective strategic planning, problem-solving, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office Software. Strong business acumen and operations-based financial analysis skills. Exhibit proven ability to self-manage in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Demonstrated leadership ability. Demonstrated technical and problem-solving skills. SAP Knowledge is a plus. Pulp, paper, or extrusion experience is a plus!

 

Physical Requirements

Sitting or standing for extended periods up to 12 hours. Occasional lifting to 20 lbs. Reading computer screens or other electronic devices. Use of various office, hand and electrical tools or equipment, Work in areas of fluctuating temperatures. Ability to work quarterly rotating shifts.

Education:

B.A. or B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering preferred or a combination of formal technical education and 3-5 years of work history in place of a B.A. or B.S. Supervisory experience required, preferably within the pulp and paper or extrusion industry.

Schedule Demands:

 

Prosperity Facility currently operates on the following supervisor schedule:

 

Monday through Friday, 12.5 +/- hour shifts beginning at 6:45 and ending at 7:15.  Must be able to work either days or nights and/or Sundays to meet customer needs. 

 

In the first quarter of 2025, the plant will move to a traditional 40-hour work week, with three 8-hour shifts Sunday night through Friday.  Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts until the schedule transitions. 

 

 

Pay Range:   $69,540.00 - $92,720.00
