The purpose of this role is to be focused on the delivery of the production outputs by training, developing and managing you team members, and taking ownership of ongoing cultural development in line with the company strategic goals to grow revenue and operating profit year on year.

This role will involve managing of a team of operatives and their production support engineers, whilst also being involved with the manufacturing processes.
Roles & Responsibilities
Drive performance through delivery of a plan- managing set up and production times per station.Operating against metrics- using standards KPI’s of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.Accountability for real-time quality.Accountability for real-time safety.Accountability for planned delivery.Driving 5S improvement activities.Accountability for managing costs, troubleshoot existing processes and eliminate waste and risks.Day to day people management- absence and sickness levels, holidays, breaks, labor utilisation.Ownership of training and development.Carry out toolbox talks specifically impacting SQDCP.Carry out day to day start of shift briefings.Informing production team of mandatory occupational health and safety practices.Compiling reports about production and providing management with updates.Communicating expectation to production team members and evaluating their performance during daily manufacturing.Carry out RCCA analysis to support non-conformity closures in timely manner.Support smooth operation of ‘pick face’ area when required.Manage recruitment (sourcing, recruitment process up to final offer).Manage induction of new starters.Drive lean activities with the team and promote continuous improvement culture within the team.Key Requirements:
Level 2 or 3 in Team Leading, Leadership Management or Operational Management (preferred, but not essential given prior experience).Experience with managing manufacturing processes.Experience in a similar leadership role.Demonstrable understanding of production, quality, delivery, safety, cost management.Ability to prioritise & manage multiple workflows, deadlines.Professionalism and consistency in behaviours.Strong written and oral communication skills.Discipline to record / adhere to process controls.Tenacity and continuous self-improvement.Reasoning ability / creativity in problem solving.Prior knowledge of SAP is advantageous.Good understanding of Lean practices.Conversant in ISO9001:2000, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001.Good working knowledge of Microsoft package.Must be flexible, with shift work required.About GE Grid Solutions:
