Purpose of Role: The Manufacturing Supervisor (Heat Treat) ensures compliance with all safety, health and environmental (SHE) rules and regulations; executes safety, quality, and production targets using continuous improvement, process management, and PDCA to uncover issues and drive improvement throughout Heat Treat operations; focused on providing quality to customers.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Effectively: Effectively manage teams and motivate othersSpecify Expectations: Clearly communicate job expectations to employeesAlign Staffing: Plan and monitor labor vs. production needsAssess Performance: Perform regularly scheduled performance reviews for hourly employeesAnalyze Costs: Review profit and loss; participate in and drive Pipeline Savings projects to ensure year over year cost savingsConducting interviews: Need to conduct hiring interviews to select the best candidates for the positionContinuous Innovation: Solid understanding of Continuous Improvement and related activitiesEffective Engagement: Positive and effective communication and collaboration skillsDynamic Focus: High energy/highly motivated with strong external and internal customer focusRelationship Builder: Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with various team membersSafety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in applicable field desired, with at least 1 year of experience in a team leader or supervisory role in a manufacturing environment. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, will consider Associate’s degree with 3 years’ in a team leader or supervisory role, or 2 years’ experience in a leader role in a foundry environment.In lieu of a college degree, will consider high school diploma with 4 years’ experience in a team leader or supervisory role in a foundry environment (direct industry experience & demonstrated knowledge)Experience leading and advising others directly or leading team project assignments desired; demonstrated effectiveness in motivating others to complete tasks and objectives desired. Experience with identifying bottlenecks within processes and using data to make decisions to eliminate the bottlenecksExperience w improving product flowIntermediate proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) desired.
