Job Title Manufacturing Support Engineer
Salary: £16.29

The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Support Engineer working in the Shrewsbury business. Scope of the role includes supporting CPS (Caterpillar production system) Operational processes whilst working closely with members of the Manufacturing Engineering Department. The successful candidate must be a self-starter with the enthusiasm and tenacity to succeed.
The position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will have the opportunity to work across all business units within the Shrewsbury facility. This role will play a key part in the introduction of new processes and equipment for the upcoming Transmission projects.
What You Will Do:
Supporting Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and HS & E Teams in the ongoing application of continuous improvement including actioning of CI cards, CAV, NIOSH assessments, Noise reduction projects, Involvement with investigation of near misses.
Managing documentation for strip & build processes.
Creation of or supporting creation of all CPS (Caterpillar production system) documentation to include:
- PFMEAs
- Control Plans
- Risk Assessments
- Standard work
Working with Teams & Contractors to achieve project goals and improve Build to Plan adherence.
Facilitation/Input of metrics for PID (Process improvement dialogue) Board Reviews
Facility 5S Auditor
Coordination of Risk Assessment Projects.
Involvement in New Employee Standard Work Inductions
Participate in Assessment Centres
What You Will Have:
Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles:
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
Must have good computer skills and have the ability to learn and complete tasks to deadlines.
Good planning and organisational skills are required as are teamwork skills.
Good communication and analytical skills will assist the change agent in meeting the roles objectives.
Proactive Safety approach to situations
