Manufacturing System Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will work onsite at out Duncan Hines Manufacturing plant in Centralia, IL to plan single or multiple projects, ranging in complexity. You will manage all aspects of project safety, scope development, cost estimates, regular cost forecasts and schedule by collaborating within the engineering organization and with other departments. Serve as the plant subject matter expert on electrical controls relating to capital projects and current operating systems.

You Will:

Work closely with Plant Engineering Manager to develop, submit, and manage capital projectsResearch solutions to equipment and processes needing upgrading or improved as identified in business planDevelop scope of work, request for quotes, manage bid walks, information requests on all projectsPrepare CIR's, Tech Briefs, and required MOPD Advisor toolsManage project funding including requests for P.O.'s, and invoicing to meet monthly spend forecastWork with procurement on contract execution and payment termsEnsure that all project planning, deliverables, reporting, and spending forecasts are managed and are delivered within safety, cost, schedule, including performance success criteriaManage multiple projects and interact with vendors and suppliers involved in the projectsCoordinate project finalization and capitalization with other departmentsNavigate structured gate Engineering processes (FEL) to take a project from concept to implementationWork with Platform Engineering and other cross functional teams in a Matrix organization on large capital projectsServe as the subject matter expert for the plant and capital projects on plant operating systems including but not limited to for PLC hardware, programming software, OT network and HMI PanelView'sSupport maintenance staff to resolve downtime issues related to electrical controls, Instrumentation and PLC systems throughout the plant, and other equipment issues.Document system problems and resolutions for future referenceSupport all Engineering responsibilities including off hours, weekends, and holidaysYou Have:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or associate degree in an industrial related field and 5 years equivalent experienceDemonstrated ability of PLC control programming and electrical controlsWorking experience with AB-SLC 500 series, AB-PLC 5 series, AB-Control Logix series,AB-Compact logix, RSLogix programming software, Factory Talk View, Panel View HMIseries, Thin Client Server and AssetCentreFundamental understanding of PLC and HMI controlsGood Project Management SkillsAbility to manage contractors and set specific expectations for site safety and workmanshipExperience in use of Microsoft applicationsAutoCAD experience is preferred
