Manufacturing Technician

The Powertrain Technician will play a key role in supporting the manufacturing and assembly of powertrain systems across various production areas. This position requires a hands-on technician with a strong technical background, capable of executing process checks, equipment maintenance, and quality inspections, while ensuring alignment with production standards.

Technicians in this role will work closely with Manufacturing Engineers and cross-functional teams to support equipment functionality, process stability, and documentation such as Work Instructions, PFMEA, and the Bill of Process (BoP). The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in troubleshooting production issues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day support on production lines, ensuring process adherence and responding to equipment or process issues in a timely manner. Operate and troubleshoot key production systems, including leak testers, torque tools, dispensing units, and electrical/mechanical test equipment. Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and minor repairs to maintain equipment uptime and performance. Support process development and optimization by executing tests, collecting data, and validating process parameters. Assist with the implementation and continuous improvement of Work Instructions, PFMEA updates, and the Bill of Process. Participate in the development and validation of new processes, tooling, and production equipment. Monitor and analyze key production metrics such as cycle time, yield, and defect trends, escalating issues as needed. Support product and process changes during new product introductions or line transitions. Ensure safe practices in high-voltage and high-precision assembly environments, maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. Maintain accurate documentation of actions performed, equipment status, and process deviations.

Key Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience in an automotive or advanced manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with leak testing equipment and troubleshooting methods. Familiarity with torque and dispensing tools, test systems, and automation platforms. Understanding of manufacturing documentation such as Work Instructions, PFMEA, and Bill of Process. Ability to interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and process specifications. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities. Basic experience with MES systems and data collection tools. Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional team environment. Willingness to support shift coverage, weekend work, or off-hours troubleshooting when needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with quality validation methods. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and structured problem-solving tools (e.g., 8D, DMAIC).
