Manufacturing Technicians - we need you!
Location: Glasgow
We have multiple opportunities to join our Glasgow business unit as a manufacturing technician! Join our world class team working on optical-electronic systems for UK and international forces for land, sea and air, operating for over 100 years.
In this role you will work closely with existing team members, Work Cell Manager and Manufacturing Engineers in delivering the outputs from the relevant work cell as per the business requirements.
The roles are based out of our Glasgow manufacturing site. Standard working will be a 4 day week Monday to Thursday and work 9.25 hours per day. However shifts may be subject to change based on customer needs. Competitive shift allowance provided.

Key Responsibilities
To perform complex Manufacturing operations in accordance with the associated documentation provided to the quality standards expected
Adhere to the defined Company processes when carrying out all tasks
Perform self-assessment and approval of products
Input and support any continuous improvement actions being worked on within Industry
Able to detect any fault or non-compliance and if necessary raise the alert. In addition when able should contribute to diagnostics and the finding of the cause/root analysis
Manage and record build configuration of product
Use the company tools (ERP, Palma etc.) when carrying out product assembly tasks
About you
Experience working in a production or manufacturing departments
Able to interpret circuit diagrams and identify faults to component level
Key skills such as soldiering and wiring
Experience handling high precision, delicate components with care and to standards
Skills in electro, mechanical or optical
Ability to Identify and carry out actions required with minimal supervision
PC literate in the use of Microsoft Office Tool set
Able to secure SC clearance with no restrictions
Desirable
Experience in working within an Industrial / Engineering environment is essential.
IPC trained and accredited
An electrical / electronic qualification

Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires you to be a UK National and achieve Security Clearance (SC) without any caveats. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
