Manufacturing Technicians - we need you!
Location: Glasgow

We have multiple opportunities to join our Land and Air Systems (LAS) Optronic business unit as a manufacturing technician. In this role you will work closely with existing team members, Work Cell Manager and Manufacturing Engineers in delivering the outputs from the relevant work cell as per the business requirements.

The roles are based out of our Glasgow manufacturing site. You will work a 4 day week Monday to Thursday and work 9.25 hours per day.

Start time is flexible between 6:00am and 7:30am and you get 30 minutes unpaid for lunch. There is also free on-site parking and an on-site canteen

Key Responsibilities

To perform complex Manufacturing operations in accordance with the associated documentation provided to the quality standards expectedAdhere to the defined Company processes when carrying out all tasksPerform self-assessment and approval of productsInput and support any continuous improvement actions being worked on within IndustryAble to detect any fault or non-compliance and if necessary raise the alert. In addition when able should contribute to diagnostics and the finding of the cause/root analysisManage and record build configuration of productUse the company tools (ERP, Palma etc.) when carrying out product assembly tasks

About you

Experience working in a production or manufacturing departmentsAble to interpret circuit diagrams and identify faults to component levelAbility to Identify and carry out actions required with minimal supervisionPC literate in the use of Microsoft Office Tool setAble to secure SC clearance with no restrictions

Desirable

Experience in working within an Industrial / Engineering environment is essential.IPC trained and accreditedAn electrical / electronic qualification

Security Clearance Statement  

Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions.  This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment.  Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.

To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.  In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
