Position Summary:
The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring various machines in a highly automated manufacturing environment. The technician plays a critical role in troubleshooting machine processes, ensuring the output meets quality standards, and maintaining accurate documentation of manufacturing operations. The role requires knowledge of PLC programming, machine operation, and the manufacturing process, with the ability to monitor quality deviations and take corrective actions when necessary. This position also involves maintaining equipment, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with quality systems and regulations.
 
Work Environment: The position is based in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to machinery, power tools, and automated production lines. The work environment may involve varying temperatures and conditions depending on the location and the nature of the production process.  
Key Responsibilities: PLC Programming and Troubleshooting: Set up, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based systems to ensure the optimal performance of automated machinery. Work with engineering teams to modify, improve, and enhance PLC programs based on production needs and feedback. Diagnose and address any issues with PLC systems, involving senior staff when necessary to resolve complex problems. Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate various machines in the manufacturing cell, including automated assembly lines or assembly stations, ensuring machines are correctly calibrated and running at peak efficiency. Monitor machine performance and output, ensuring production goals are met and quality standards are maintained. Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and take corrective actions when processes deviate from normal operation, involving senior staff if further expertise is needed. Pipe Cutting (Bandsaw Operation): Operate bandsaws to cut pipes to precise lengths and dimensions as required by production specifications. Ensure accuracy in cutting and measure regularly to maintain consistent product quality. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the bandsaw and related equipment to ensure safe and optimal operation. Delivery and Inventory Management: Safely transport finished products and materials to designated areas within the facility. Assist with inventory management by tracking materials used during production and reporting shortages to supervisors. Ensure that the flow of materials and products is efficient and in line with production schedules. Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production quantities, and any issues or deviations encountered during operations. Ensure documentation is complete and accurate to comply with both internal and external quality systems and regulatory requirements. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports detailing operational performance, inventory levels, and any maintenance activities. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure production targets are met and high-quality standards are achieved. Participate in team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities for process improvement. Actively contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements and efficiency initiatives.  
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience as a Manufacturing Technician or in a similar role, with a focus on PLC programming and machinery operation. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturing specifications. Strong mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and automated machinery. Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in a manufacturing environment. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain accurate documentation. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with other team members and departments.  
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy materials or equipment as needed. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, equipment, and occasional noise. Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods. Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as per safety guidelines.

Pay Details: $25.72 per hour
