Purpose of Role: Weir ESCO's Manufacturing Technician coordinates with engineering, manufacturing operations, the development center team, and plant scheduling to develop foundry tooling and perform test runs for new product manufacturing trials and supply of field trial parts. Also optimizes product and manufacturing safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost using systematic problem solving processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Collecting, analyzing and presenting process data to improve process control and stability to drive down scrap rates, improve yield and lower cost

Plan and drive necessary activities to ensure that the Process Variation Reduction (PVR) effort is integrated into the daily standard work and accountability at the shop floor.

Liaise with engineering and operations to develop and optimize product and tooling designs to achieve manufacturing performance objectives

Drive, track, and witness manufacturing trials; document and report on trial results; review trials with engineers and operations teams; formalize transition of products and tooling from development phase into production

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.

Requires an associate’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or related engineering field, Bachelor's degree preferred

Minimum of 3 years experience in industrial manufacturing

Strong statistical and analytical skills

Ability to work independently

Strong communication, computer (Microsoft Office) and presentation skills.

Pragmatic approach to find solutions that are sustainable on the shop floor

Comfortable in a manufacturing environment

Salary Non-exempt position

4 10hr shifts Monday-Thursday, 1st shift
