Location: **Lanham, MD**
Schedule: **Weekdays, 9/80 schedule**
Pay Rate: **$39.72 to $44.05 per hour**
**Role Summary & Impact**
As a **Manufacturing Technician** , you'll play a critical role in the assembly of space flight hardware, including electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies like CCAs, ECAs, and cables. Your work will directly contribute to the success of space missions, ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision. Whether you’re working with fine-pitch components, applying polymeric materials, or conducting peer inspections, you will be integral to the creation of components that are trusted in space.
**Day-to-Day Responsibilities:**
+ **Assembly Operations:** Perform assembly operations on Space Flight hardware, including electronic and mechanical components such as CCAs, ECAs, and cables, based on technical drawings and diagrams.
+ **Soldering:** Solder various types of components, including fine pitch, J-lead, SMT, and through-hole, to meet exacting specifications.
+ **Material Application:** Apply polymeric materials such as bonding, staking, and conformal coating to assemblies as needed.
+ **Testing & Inspection:** Conduct continuity checks on work in progress and completed assemblies to ensure functionality and integrity.
+ **Peer Inspection:** Perform peer inspections of assemblies according to quality specifications, ensuring all components meet rigorous standards.
+ **Rework & Modification:** Disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble flight, experimental, or prototype assemblies as needed, ensuring adherence to specifications and simulated conditions.
+ **Flexibility:** Be open to occasional overtime, evenings, and weekends to meet program schedules and deadlines.
**Qualifications:**
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ **High School Diploma/GED** .
+ **5 years of experience** in assembly and soldering, particularly with fine-pitch components and space flight hardware.
+ **Soldering Certifications:** J-STD-001 with Space Addendum and **NASA 8739.1 certification** .
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ **NASA 8739.1 certification** and **NASA 8739.4 certification** .
+ Experience with **component lead forming** and rework processes.
