Job Description
Work in a manufacturing and production facility in the build and assembly of complex electronics boards for spaceflight/NASA applications. The boards are complex, custom electronics boards with low volume production runs and custom work alongside engineers. Validate all work for compliance with drawing specifications and applicable space/NASA quality standards. Perform assembly operations on subassemblies and complete units to established procedures and quality standards. Work independently with minimal guidance from higher classified personnel or detailed drawing information and applicable quality standards. Some harness build work is performed, but the focus of experience needs to be in PWA (Printed Wiring Assembly), CCA (Circuit Card Assembly), PWB (Printed Wiring Board), and PCB (Printed Circuit Board). Manufacturing work is performed under a microscope 80-90% of the time. Perform tasks such as component lead forming.
ResponsibilitiesBuild and assemble complex electronics boards for spaceflight/NASA applications.Validate work for compliance with drawing specifications and applicable space/NASA quality standards.Perform assembly operations on subassemblies and complete units to established procedures and quality standards.Work independently with minimal guidance from higher classified personnel or detailed drawing information.Perform some harness build work, but focus on PWA, CCA, PWB, and PCB.Perform manufacturing work under a microscope 80-90% of the time.Perform tasks such as component lead forming.Essential SkillsCurrent J-STD-001 soldering certificate with the space addendum.Experience and knowledge of polymerics, including certification to 8739.4 - NASA Standard.Experience working on spaceflight hardware and in the manufacture and creation of custom boards for spaceflight applications.Experience working under a microscope 80-90% of the time.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma and at least 5-10 years of relevant experience.At least 5 years of experience in space hardware.Previous experience with spaceflight is required and/or experience with space EGSE is desired.Certification to NASA 8739.4 - Polymerics is a plus.Experience with cable/harness and wiring is preferred but not required.Ability to work independently.Work Environment
Manufacturing of custom pieces in a smaller lab environment. The role involves working with some chemicals, production setup/breakdown, custom runs, soldering, polymerics, and quality control. Work is performed under a microscope 80-90% of the time.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
