Job Description

As a Manufacturing Technician I, you will play a vital role in consumables, kit, or reagent manufacturing within a fast-paced, high throughput industrial setting. You will be responsible for meeting production schedules and may be involved in the production of coated plates, chemical buffers, biological diluents/reagents, and/or assembled kits for customer order fulfillment. This role allows for a degree of professional latitude, creativity, and self-management.

ResponsibilitiesOperate automated equipment used to perform and produce biological assays and/or reagents.Contribute to process improvement, assay and process development for manufacturing.Complete appropriate documentation to support process and production procedures including data capture, forms, logbooks, and inventory batch records.Perform daily maintenance and documentation of all production equipment.Participate in general laboratory maintenance, including maintaining laboratory cleanliness, supplies, and equipment.Maintain physical inventory by processing, aliquotting, vialing, and labeling materials.Prepare, maintain, and report raw material, reagent, and/or coated plate inventories.Participate in year-end physical inventory.Follow laboratory safety precautions and use personal protective equipment.May manufacture custom and/or prototype requests for customers.May occasionally handle BSL2 reagents.Perform specific duties that may vary depending on departmental requirements.Essential SkillsExperience in production, manufacturing, pipetting, assays, reagents, and buffers.Skill in operating automated equipment used in biological assay and reagent production.Proficiency in documentation, including data capture, forms, logbooks, and inventory batch records.Knowledge of inventory control and operations coordination.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma required.Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.Demonstrated experience in operations coordination and inventory control.Prior manufacturing experience is a plus.Work Environment

The work environment is a lab-based manufacturing setting. There are two shifts available: opening shifts at 5am and 7am with lunch at 10am and 11am, and a closing shift at 8am with lunch at 12pm. Schedules are uploaded on Wednesday the week before, and requests are accommodated if made in advance. For the first few weeks, the schedule will be determined on the first day in the production area, typically starting at 7am or 8am until hands-on training begins. This information will be disclosed by your supervisor after New Hire Orientation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.63/hr.
