Manufacturing Technician IIPosition Description:

As a Manufacturing Technician II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be an essential part of our Systems Assembly Team. You will be responsible for flawlessly assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electro-mechanical assemblies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in using a SEM or FIB for alignments, as well as electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic assembly skills. Your ability to read wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and assembly instructions will be crucial in maintaining the highest standards of quality for our products.
Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for set-up, testing, and packing of final products.Test products or subassemblies for functionality or quality.Troubleshoot problems with equipment, devices, or products.Plan and lay out work to meet production and schedule requirements.Demonstrate in-depth understanding of product function and application.Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.Ensure quality standards are strictly met.Identify and resolve root causes for excessive waste, scrap, labor, re-work, or customer returns.Partner with engineering in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures.Perform light equipment PM and repair.Job Requirements:Associate degree in an Electronics or Technology field preferred, and/or 5 years of related experience.A minimum of 5 years’ experience assembling and troubleshooting sophisticated, detailed electrical and mechanical components and systems.Experience in a fast-paced production environment; specifically adhering to established procedures and manufacturing schedules.Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.Great teammate, able to work effectively with others.Fluently speak, read, and write English.Capable of lifting 35 pounds unassisted.Able to work sitting, standing, or kneeling for periods of time.Desired Skills:Have appropriate visual acuity and hand/eye coordination to assemble, manipulate, and test small, precision electronic and mechanical components.Proficient with standard electronic assembly and testing equipment including, but not limited to soldering irons, multimeters, crimp tools, torque tools, etc.Diligent, self-directed, and goal-oriented.Familiar with quality management systems and safety programs.Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.Basic computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Some of the benefits you can expect:We offer Medical, Dental, & Vision benefits that become effective on Day 1 of employment!You will be eligible to receive paid time off along with company-paid holidays.We offer a 401K program with up to 6% matching!We offer Tuition Reimbursement programs to assist with college education.We offer company Employee Stock Purchase Plan Programs.
