Location/Division Specific Information:

Part of the Laboratory Products Division, the Newport site manufacture a range of laboratory consumables. The products are used within research, diagnostics, production and clinical settings.

How Will You Make an Impact?:

Within this position we are seeking a self-motivated and hard-working colleague that will be responsible for the running and upkeep of our Injection Moulding machinery and equipment.

You will maintain and operate Injection Moulding and/or ISBM/EBM equipment. Ensure machinery runs efficiently, meets specifications, and achieves production targets as per the manufacturing plan.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable condition

Carry out mechanical, electrical, and setting work within the factory within the scope of competence

Assist in training other Production Technicians and attend any vital training courses to improve skill level

Ensure safe working practices and adhere to departmental rules and regulations

Liaise with Management regarding any occurrences likely to cause a breakdown

Set equipment to required standards to achieve quality standards

Minimize material wastage

Ensure all relevant procedures are carried out in accordance with company conformance to ISO 9001

Change over equipment for various production runs

Accurately fill in and update statistic and record sheets

Be aware of reject production and process loss

Ensure compliance with all Company rules and regulations, maintaining high housekeeping standards

Ensure manufacturing adheres to and conforms with required technical and quality specifications in line with ISO 9001 quality systems

Support lean manufacturing program in conjunction with PPI continuous improvement team

Education:

High School Diploma, Secondary Education, Advanced Certificate, or equivalent.

Experience

Required: Minimum of 2 years of injection moulding plastic processing operation, production, lab setting or related field

Required: Previous experience maintaining and operating Injection Moulding Machines/Equipment

Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment or other highly regulated environment

Preferred: Experience working in a clean room environment

Preferred: Experience testing electromechanical systems
