Manufacturing Technician Trainer

Johnson Service Group is seeking a Manufacturing Technician Trainer in the San Jose, CA area.
1 year contract assignment
$55.00 per hour
Train manufacturing technicians in composite fabrication, mechanical assembly, wire harness installation, and system integration processes under the guidance of the Supervisor Trainer.
• Assist in the development and delivery of training materials, including standard work instructions, visual aids, and hands-on demonstrations.
• Monitor and evaluate trainee performance, providing constructive feedback and reporting progress to the Supervisor Trainer.
• Support production operations by ensuring technicians are properly trained on
manufacturing best practices, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Facilitate cross-training programs to enhance team flexibility and ensure technicians are equipped to perform multiple roles.
• Conduct training sessions on workplace safety, tool control, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to ensure training content aligns with production standards and quality requirements.
• Participate in identifying skill gaps among technicians and recommending targeted training interventions.
• Maintain accurate records of training activities, certifications, and competency
assessments.
• Provide on-the-job mentoring and act as a technical resource for production teams during ramp-up and critical builds.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing input on training
programs, tools, and processes.
What You Need:
• Minimum 5 years of aerospace manufacturing experience, with expertise in composite fabrication, mechanical assembly, and system integration.
• Experience as a trainer, mentor, or lead technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of aerospace manufacturing methods, standards, and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate trainees.
• Proficiency with Google Suite and other relevant software applications.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Physical capability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted and maintain visual acuity for quality inspections.
Education:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Certification or coursework in aerospace technology or related field is a plus.
Bonus Qualifications:
• Familiarity with IPC 610/620 & AC43.13-B standards.
• Experience with MES and ERP software systems.
• Knowledge of high-voltage wiring, batteries, and electric motors.
• Hands-on experience with continuous improvement tools and methodologies.
