DuPont Electronics & Industrial (E&I) delivers a broad range of technology-based products and solutions to the transportation, aerospace, electronics, healthcare, industrial and consumer markets. The Pencader Site in Newark, DE, is the premier manufacturing location for Vespel® Parts and Shapes within those industries.

Pencader has an opening for a Manufacturing Technology Senior Engineer. This individual will be a member of the Manufacturing Technology group located at the Pencader site focused on both short- and long-term process improvement needs across the global business. The role will be associated with Export Controlled process technology and US Citizenship is a requirement.

Your key responsibilities:

Demonstrate sincere personal leadership and accountability by being a role model for core values, business & site goals, and continuous improvement.Core member of the site support staff; helps set the technical direction.Lead and/or be a technical reviewer for manufacturing process changes; expertise with management of change (MOC) and change of design (COD) work processes; lead any scaleup work needed to achieve project goals.Effectively provide technical support for plant operations; assist with and/or lead process upsets, root cause analyses, and continuous improvement and short and long-term process optimization projects, working closely to support manufacturing technology engineers/ATOs/mentor/develop ATO, quality, and improvement engineers, and other functions within the Vespel® MT/integrated operations team.Team member on new product commercialization framework (NPCF) projects representing manufacturing during early phases thru commercialization; plays a lead role in defining and implement manufacturing process(es) to achieve project goals working closely across functions. Ensures a safe and efficient process is handed over to the operations team.Lead technology plans and basic data development for capital projects; may lead small capital projects or collaborate closely with other engineers to implement. Lead startup efforts for capital projects, following DuPont project process and best practices.Lead / support the advancement of the process technology; work with Global Technology Guardian to execute the technology roadmap.Provide technical support for contract manufacturing projects – if local North America support is required, and under direction of the Global Technology GuardianThis position reports to the Pencader site Manufacturing Technology Manager and receives local oversight, training, and guidance from Global Manufacturing Technology Leader.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred).5-15 years of experience in discrete manufacturing operations and/or capital / improvement projects as a manufacturing representativeProduct design for manufacturing with 2D, 3D CAD design experience (Solid works preferred).Experience with new product commercialization including scale- up.Strong knowledge in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)General knowledge in standard machining practices.Knowledge of design and function of industrial automationProven ability to diagnose and resolve complex process and production issues using a team approach and data driven analysis.A strong desire to apply fundamental knowledge to solve challenging problems.Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement and statistical analysis experienceSkilled in MOC (Management of Change).Experience with process technology improvements / advancementsExcellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsStrong team player with an ability to work closely with cross functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with contract manufacturing.Experience in migrating technology from research and development to manufacturing.Experience with product commercialization and manufacturing cost analysis.Six Sigma green belt (or higher) or Lean certifiedExperience with plant support (root cause analysis, MOC, COD) and continuous improvement processes (examples: LEAN, Kaizen)Possess strong interpersonal skills to be an effective team member.
