Manufacturing Testing Technician-Magnolia
Testing Technician provides support and is responsible for accurately and efficiently performing the final function and performance testing of Oil and Gas Drilling equipment. This role is responsible for operating Industrial testing equipment to perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) on OEM equipment and will validate the performance of the equipment to meet design, quality and operational requirements. Complies and participates in company safety and quality programs and initiatives. + Mobilize equipment into test stand and installation of test equipment lines, hydraulics, and electrical connections. + Operate and control in-house testing equipment, including: + Hydraulic Pressure Units (HPU) for system pressure validation and performance testing + Electrical Consoles and HMI Screens for system monitoring and diagnostics. + Dynamometers (Dyno) to evaluate mechanical power output and efficiency. + Loading of digital programs and drive parameters into equipment to prepare software as ready for field operations startup. + Troubleshoot electrical systems to resolution utilizing electrical diagnostic and testing instruments, including voltmeters, amp clamps, oscilloscopes, and other precision measurement tools. + Troubleshoot hydraulic, and lube systems requiring a strong understanding of Engineering drawings and requirements. + Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to resolve any defects determined. + Responsible for compiling final test data into reports to provide to operations for analysis. + Responsible for determining and tracking the condition of equipment prior to and post-testing to advise internal Mfg. operations of any potential discrepancies to the intended design of the equipment. + Ability to identify physical equipment deficiencies using strong mechanical aptitude to assess where issues may be occurring within the various mechanical components. + Keep work area in a neat and organized utilizing Lean Manufacturing (5S) principles. + Works overtime and/or weekend as required. LANGUAGE SKILLS Fluent in English. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations. Ability to understand mechanical drawings, bills of materials, and both electrical and hydraulic/lube schematics. COMPUTER SKILLS General knowledge of Microsoft Word and E-Mail messaging, and an all-around general knowledge of computer operations is required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Valid Driver’s License **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** 5 Years of demonstrated experience working with electrical connections and high and low voltage electrical components to include: + Fiber optic communications + Low voltage power and control cables + Electrical protection relays Basic knowledge of electrical standards and safety systems highly preferred. Basic PLC knowledge, i.e., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, etc. Strong mechanical aptitude.
